Do's
In order to get the maximum mileage from your vehicle you should keep the following points in mind.
- Drive at a steady speed (between 40 to 50 km/hr).
- Use good quality unleaded petrol of Octane 87 or high.
- Maintain correct tyre pressure at manufacturer recommended levels (different tyre pressures for single and pillion seat riding).
- Check and clean air filter element.
- Check and clean spark plug and adjust electrode gap.
- Check whether brakes are dragging.
- Engine oil should be changed regularly and filled upto the correct level.
- Service the engine and tune up regularly with special attention to clean the carburetor and maintaining correct valve clearances.
- Use choke during cold starting condition only.
- Consider weight on the two-wheeler as it makes a big difference to mileage.
- Buy fuel in the morning as it is sold by volume and expands during the day when it gets hot.
- Keep your vehicle clean and dust free.
- Fill up from busy and well-known petrol stations where quality and quantity are assured.
- Go gentle on the throttle.
- Try and avoid congested roads as far as possible, even if it means you have to take a slightly longer route.

Don't's
In order to get the maximum mileage from your vehicle you should keep the following points in mind.
- Do not keep the clutch lever pressed while riding.
- Do not run the engine in low gear for long times.
- Do not park your motorcycle under direct sunlight as it causes evaporation of petrol.
- Do not keep brake pedal pressed while riding.
- Do not raise the engine rpm during traffic halts.
- Do not rev the engine unnecessarily.
- Do not fill up to the beam in the tank as there can be spillage and petrol can expand and overflow.
- Switch off the engine if the halt is for more than 2 minutes.
- Do not cover Inlet of Air Filter assembly.
- Anticipating stops and avoiding abrupt stops will decrease fuel consumption and increase the life of your brakes and tyres.
- Do not cover the engine in the front and sides which restricts the smooth airflow to the engine fins required for air-cooling thereby running at a higher temperature.
