Mahindra Two-Wheelers, a part of the Mahindra Group, has launched Mahindra Duro DZ, a touch, powerful, fuel-efficient 125cc scooter. Addressing a press conference here on Friday, Dharmendra Mishra, Vice-President (Sales and Customer Care) Two-Wheelers Sector, said the company's R&D team worked closely with consumers and had come out with Duro DZ after extensive testing. Mahindra had announced a special launch price. The Tamil Nadu ex-showroom price is Rs.45,235. Mr. Mishra said with this launch, the company was expecting a market share of 5 per cent from Tamil Nadu and 7-8 per cent from pan-India. The total number of scooters sold was nearly 2.2 lakh a month. The company has its manufacturing facility at Indore in Madhya Pradesh. On the new vehicle, he said it had dual-curve digital ignition system, which delivered a mileage superior to other 125cc scooters. It had superior telescopic clearance and rear-brake lock lever for safety.

Mahindra 2 Wheelers has launched the Mahindra Duro DZ, which is said to be designed specifically for the challenging Indian roads. It has a 125cc engine where power stands at 8.15PS produced at 7000rpm and torque peaks at 9Nm at 5500rpm. Its dual curve digital ignition system is believed to deliver a mileage superior to other 125 cc scooters. The new Mahindra Duro DZ also offers a variety of important durability and safety related features. Its advanced telescopic suspension is touted to ensure a smooth ride on the toughest terrain. Other features include a rear brake lock lever, halogen headlamp, digital ignition system and advanced telescopic suspension. Currently, the scooter has been launched in Andhra Pradesh and Kerala. The ex-showroom prices announced are: Andhra Pradesh – Rs 44,640 and Kerala – Rs 44,908.

A survey conducted by Synovate India, and supported by ad monitoring firm TVAdIndx, has rated the Mahindra Stallio commercial among the Top 10 Television Advertisements in the month of October 2010. The ad was chosen on the basis of the ad reach index, which was calculated by multiplying awareness and brand recall scores and further dividing it by hundred. In terms of brand recall, Stallio scored 99% percent, which clearly signifies the uniqueness and impact of the advertisement. Clearly, the Mahindra Stallio was the only two-wheeler brand that marked its presence in the Top 10 list this festive month.

Mahindra & Mahindra has launched two new scooters for the Indian market. Called the Rodeo and the Duro, they're both an addition to the Mahindra two-wheelers lineup. Both the scoots have been developed with inputs from SYM in Taiwan as well as Italy's Engines Engineering. Mahindra & Mahindra is has expanded its lineup in a bid to capture more of the lucrative scooter market, currently dominated by Honda and TVS offerings. Both the scooters are powered by an 8-hp 125cc engine which is better displacement than most of the other offerings in the market, primarily 100cc scooters. On the Rodeo, a digital console incorporates a trip meter, tachometer and a clock while a USB port cum mobile charger is also provided for your precious celly. The mirrors are also claimed to be un-breakable. A side stand reminder buzzer is also included.

M&M unveils Rodeo, Duro scooters- Hindu Business Line  September 11, 2009

Mahindra Two Wheelers, the two wheeler arm of the Mahindra Group, on Thursday unveiled two new power scooters - the Mahindra Rodeo and the Mahindra Duro. The gearless scooters are priced at Rs. 41,299 for the Rodeo (ex-showroom Pune) and at Rs. 38,299 (ex-showroom Pune) for the Duro. The vehicles are the first products to be launched after Mahindra acquired the two wheeler business of Kinetic Motors in July 2008 for Rs 110 crore. The products from Kinetic included the Flyte of which Mahindra is selling around 4,000 units a month. In fact, the Fltye is the only product from the Kinetic line-up that the company is selling, the other products from the Kinetic stable being 4S, Nova and Kine.
